Travel and Adventure

When I was young and just barely married someone gave me some good advise.  The told me the secret to a long happy marriage was to take a vacation every three months. They said "We've made a lot of money and lost a lot of money but over the years what has kept us sane and strong was that we went on vacation every three months, whether we could afford it of not."

My husband and I took that quite literally and adopted the practice.  When we could we'd spend a week in Maui or a month in Cancun or a year in Europe and when we couldn't we'd take a three day weekend and drive up the coast or into the desert or up the mountains.  What we found is that vacations truly are a source of strength and sanity.  It is in fact a way of life and life after all is an adventure.

So after 21 years of an amazing marriage and adventure, we are always either planning , just getting home from or just leaving for our next adventure.

We once mapped about 703 islands of the world we wanted to see.  A bucket list for our passports. We've not yet made it to all these incredible destinations ...but we've had our share of adventures and been to some beautiful and enchanting places and journey is not yet over...

We've climbed the pyramids of chitzen itza, zip lined through the amazon jungles, jumped from a plane at 10,000 feet, swam with the dolphins, explored the castles of Europe, walked century old cobble stone streets, soaked in the sun on the whitest sands and swam in the bluest of blue waters.  We've snorkeled in the crater of a volcano, climbed up the inside of a water fall, explored century old caves and danced til dawn covered in foam.  And that is just for starters!
